Cookies and storage
Updated: 17 October 2026
1. What the website remembers
Favourites and display choices help you return to your selection and preferences on this device. Language uses a technical cookie. The site does not install advertising cookies. Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights measure visits and performance without cookies, only in production and outside private pages; URL queries and fragments are removed. No global consent banner is deployed.
The external services below require separate validation. Mapbox telemetry and video players, in particular, must be reviewed before concluding that a consent exemption applies.
2. Browser storage inventory
The inventory below is based on the code and libraries currently in use. Names with an asterisk represent a variable prefix. Favourites and currency choices are not saved in a traveller account.
The mpca:utm sessionStorage key keeps the first visit source for this tab session; it is submitted with enquiries.
| Name | Type | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| NEXT_LOCALE | cookie | Dear KinHome / next-intl | Remember language; technical cookie sent to the site. | Browser session (no max-age set in the configuration). |
| mpca:favorites | localStorage | Dear KinHome | Up to 50 favourite home identifiers. | Until cleared by you or your browser. |
| dear-kinhome:display-preferences | localStorage | Dear KinHome | EUR/USD currency and m²/sqft area unit. | Until cleared by you or your browser. |
| dear-kinhome:selection-view: | sessionStorage | Dear KinHome | Prefix followed by the selection token and home identifier: avoid counting a view twice in the same tab. The value is a simple flag with no visitor identity. | Browser tab session. |
| mpca:utm | sessionStorage | Dear KinHome | Keep the first visit source (UTM parameters, gclid and referrer without query or fragment) and attach it to your enquiry. | Browser tab session. |
| mapbox.eventData* | localStorage | Mapbox (map SDK) | Technical event data, associated uuid identifier and timestamp. | Depends on the service and browser settings. |
| Cloudflare Turnstile | third-party | Cloudflare | Anti-spam verification after interaction with the newsletter or enquiry forms; any storage must be checked for the browser used. | Depends on the service and browser settings. |
| Vercel Analytics / Speed Insights | third-party | Vercel | Cookie-free measurement of public page visits, events without personal data and performance, only in production. | No cookie or browser storage added by this integration. |
| YouTube / Vimeo | third-party | YouTube / Vimeo | Player loaded on click: youtube-nocookie.com or dnt=1. The provider may process technical data. | Depends on the service and browser settings. |
3. Maps, videos and form protection
Mapbox loads when a map approaches the viewport and may write mapbox.eventData* technical data, including an identifier.
The YouTube player uses youtube-nocookie.com and Vimeo uses dnt=1; they load only after your click. Thumbnails may come from their image networks. These settings reduce tracking but do not guarantee that the provider performs no processing.
Cloudflare Turnstile loads when newsletter registration approaches the viewport or receives focus, and when an enquiry form receives focus. This content page does not submit a challenge automatically.
4. Staff area
The back office uses Supabase sb-<project>-auth-token session cookies (potentially split into chunks) for signed-in staff, and sidebar_state for the internal interface. They do not create traveller accounts. The clear control below does not sign staff out or delete these cookies.
5. Manage your choices
You can clear Dear KinHome favourites and preferences with the button below, after confirmation. It removes only mpca:favorites, dear-kinhome:display-preferences and the NEXT_LOCALE cookie. It does not delete a newsletter subscription, data from other sites or staff sign-in cookies. Language is also determined by the page address.
Browser settings let you manage other cookies and third-party service data.
